we have a winner!

Isy Haas submitted the winning story, “Bob Beeson's Transmission Line!” in a contest held late last year, right after the 5oth Anniversary Celebration. The competition was the inspiration of Bill Welling who generously donated funds for the prize, an 8GB Apple iPod touch. Retail value $299.00.

Isy’s story was one of many submitted, but it was selected as the winning entry—picked by lottery from the following eight excellent finalists. These stories are all posted on the Fairchild Semiconductor History web site along with others:

  • Betty Prince – “Diodes to DRAMs - Memories of San Rafael and Beyond”

  • Bob Ulrickson – “Applications, MSI, and LSI at Fairchild Semiconductor”

  • Isy Haas – “Bob Beeson's Transmission Line!”

  • Joe Malone – “In the Beginning… There Was Widlar”

  • John C. Reinhardt – “Three Fairchild Tales”

  • Robin Hodge – “Giving Away Money”

  • Ted Malcolm – “I Remember When”
